Do What You Love

Throughout history, there have been handfuls of people who really did what they loved. How do you know when you are doing what you love? Everyone benefits. The recent challenges with the U. S. financial market can be traced to greed first and foremost. More important, is the fact that all of these parties responsible clearly were not doing what they love. When you do what you love, everyone benefits and you are more than happy to share your successes. You want everyone to be as happy as you are. People who claim to do what they love, yet deny others in any way are only doing what they like. Their goals center around the need to get attention (excessive ego or lack of self worth), to avenge some wrong they feel victimized them, to support their fear of lack, to support their fears in general and because something within them is unfulfilled. Franklin Delano Roosevelt said the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. He could not have been more accurate. Fear drives us away from doing what we love. Martin Luther King, Jr. said we should be judged on the content of our character. His insight is a crucial component to doing what you love. Oprah Winfrey says to live your best life, and includes elements of giving in her success process. These individuals understood that this life is about something more than compiling wealth and being the most powerful person. True lovers of what they do are living the life we all aspire to. It is not about lip service or pretense, it is about living it.
